  1. I love the way you think aloud about the outfits telling us what you think works or doesn’t work and why. I have clothes from years ago and often try to use them in a new way. I get ideas from you and am so grateful you teach us how to use the old in fresh ways. Please do more of these videos: a picture you want to copy and how you put it together from your closet. I LOVE IT. THANK YOU!

  2. I absolutely love your style. I just stumbled upon this video and I subscribed to your channel. have always admire a look with a blazer. But I thought that I couldn’t pull it off. Due to my plus size. I have lost almost 100 lbs and feel I can try it now. But I’m 5’ 2” and still have a belly. I am so concerned and conscious of wearing tucked in shirts. A white button down shirt is so classy and sophisticated in my opinion. Any suggestions on how I can pull it off. I thought about going monochromatic layers with a blazer over it. Now I’m working in the school system and want to upgrade my look. Any advice will greatly appreciated. Thank you. I will also look at all your videos for inspiration.

  3. Hi Alyss!
I really like the last outfit with the dress. But I really ask myself when to wear such a short dress with these boots? I mean, for the dress it must be really warm, in this case the boots would be too hot… so for me this outfit ist not practicable although it's really nice.

  4. I have also a dress with small flowers, but I have never worn it with a jeans jacket and a blazer. The three pieces I have already for years. I have to try to wear it together. It will really be a new look and modern look for me. Thanks for this inspiration.

  5. That VB dickie idea would be so easy to dupe with a thrifted denim jacket and scissors. I try to get the layered look without the bulk of actual layers as much as possible.

  6. I also love the longer videos, which show more possibilities. I love listening to your analysis, it really shows such creativity, how the inspiration can be the starting point to several more ideas. πŸ’œ

I also love short hemlines and I am 51! If it suits you and you love it, wear it.

  7. The way you styled the dress was perfect. I thought the inspiration piece was just a little much with the long skirt, etc. It reminded me of dressing for "modesty" as the highest goal- too covered up. But with the shorter skirt, it was really cute! I did think that it might be too cold in the winter, so I'm glad you showed it with the tights and turtleneck, too.

  8. All very accessible looks from my closet. Love the dress look. I have several dresses I want to wear more. This gives me some ideas for styling them. Thank you

  9. Thank You. Thank You for inspiring me with the flouncy dress jean jacket blazer combo. I recently went out of my comfort zone, buying a frilly dress similar to yours but came very close to getting rid of it. After watching this video, I styled it with a blazer that I had not worn in ages.

  10. These looks are fabulous! The last was my favorite. While I'm not a denim jacket person, I love flouncy dresses and oversized blazers so I'm definitely going to steal the look. (Same with the first!) Also, the skinny belt really earned its keep this video.

  11. I love these types of videos from you. All of these are great options, and I will be keeping them in mind when I need to come up with a casual style. I like the style of the dress with the boots, jean jacket under a blazer. Close next was the other look that was the most dead on for me was the blazer with wide leg jeans. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.

  12. Hello Alyssa! Sorry little side note to be picky – I do enjoy your videos very much!!!Β I love the idea to shop our own closet, it's brilliant πŸ™‚
Personal opinion : Zadig et Voltaire is nowhere near being a slow fashion brand. They sell the same t-shirts as HM, produced in the same countries (fact pointed out to me by a Zadig customer who prevented me from shopping there)… but for an obscene retail price so it feels luxe and exclusive.
I heard after that time so many people complain about their items from the brand being ruined after one wash!!! While some pieces might be the exception that stylists love, living in France I have heard and overheard toooo many bad comments about their pieces. So I feel like there is enough reasonable doubt about this brand's long term ethic to avoid shopping there IF you want to support more sustainable brands.
I would rather recommend brands like American vintage : they aim for good pieces and quality. I own a Tshirt that looks exactly like when I bought it… 10 years ago!

  13. I was looking at the dress thinking how cute it was but my legs would FREEZE! Was thinking, hmmm… would tights spoil the look? And then you showed it!
